Warrensburg Main Street’s Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade

Warrensburg, Mo. (June 29, 2026)

Warrensburg Main Street is excited to host its annual Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade alongside the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market as the community celebrates Independence Day on Saturday, July 4th. The festivities will take place around the Johnson County Courthouse, located at 300 N. Holden Street, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Families are invited to wear their patriotic colors and join in one of Warrensburg’s favorite 4th of July traditions. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons, ride-on toys, scooters, family dogs, or even themselves in patriotic fashion. This event is completely free to the community and does not require registration.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m. many free activities will be available for the community to enjoy. Free decorating supplies can be found on the courthouse lawn so children can personalize their bikes, wagons, and other wheels before the parade. Create A Face will have a booth set up near the Old Drum statue on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn for free face painting from 9am – 11am.
Additionally, Cowell’s Barnyard Buckaroos, LLC petting zoo will be located on the corner of Maynard and Hout on the southwest corner of the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market. The community will also have the opportunity to enjoy fun yard games and other outdoor activities throughout the event around the Courthouse Lawn.

The Warrensburg Fire Department will also have both an antique and a new fire truck parked on the courthouse square throughout the event. Families are invited to stop by, take photos, meet local firefighters, and learn more about the department.

At 10:15 am, the community is invited to gather around the flag pole on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn for a special flag raising ceremony presented by Troop 400, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Lauren Veseck.

Participants of the Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade will gather at the front of the Johnson County Courthouse following the flag ceremony and national anthem. The parade will begin at 10:30 am. The parade route will start at the Johnson County Courthouse facing east towards Market Street. Participants will then ride from Market Street, take a left to head North onto College Street, then turn left to head West onto Gay Street. The Parade route will end headed South down Holden Street to the Johnson County Courthouse. Streets along the parade route will be temporarily closed for approximately 10 minutes, allowing participants to make one or more laps around the block. Spectators are encouraged to stand along the parade route to cheer on the participants as they showcase their creativity and patriotic spirit.

The morning of the Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade the community is encouraged to stroll through the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market located around the Johnson County Courthouse. The market will be open its regular hours of 8am – 12pm with over 40 local vendors selling produce, baked goods, handmade items and more.

“We are excited to host another memorable Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade and hope families come out to fulfill another year of traditions or start a new one with us!”says Megan Woods, Warrensburg Main Street Communications Coordinator.

The Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade is a cherished Warrensburg tradition and would not be possible without the support of the community. This year’s event is sponsored by The Next Door Agents and Warrensburg R-VI School District, whose generous support allows the parade and all activities to remain free for everyone to enjoy. No registration or participation fee is required.
