Warrensburg Main Street Hosts Prom Parade

Warrensburg, Mo. (April 6th, 2026) โ€“

Warrensburg Main Street invites you to help roll out the red carpet for our annual Prom Parade on Saturday April 11th at 5pm in Downtown Warrensburg.

The public is encouraged to come gather down our parade route on W Pine Street to help create a paparazzi feel for these show stopping Prom goers. Prom participants will meet at the free parking lot on W. Culton Street at 4:45pm. They will then walk the stairs that lead from Culton Street to Pine Street where the community may gather to help take photos.

Prom Parade was first created in 2020 thanks to a group of eager seniors, their parents and the Main Street organization, who wanted to help make their senior year one to remember despite the pandemic.

In July of 2020, the first Prom Parade was created and allowed for students to feel special and show off before heading to Prom. As each year passed, more new components were added to the Prom Parade.

โ€œWe created this event to encourage students to stay in town for Prom and have an activity for them to do beforehand.โ€ states Jamie DeBacker, Executive Director of Warrensburg Main Street. โ€œWe are trying to make this event known as a Pre-Prom Party for students who are attending Prom, they can get all glammed up and the community can help make them feel Warrensburg Famous for the time of the event.โ€

Prom Parade participants will have multiple photo stops available in Downtown, including classic cars provided by the Warrensburg Wheels Car Club. To help create a paparazzi feel, some community members have volunteered their photography skills for the evening. Our volunteer photographers include: Annie McCoy, CSartwell Studio, Jennifer Tru Photography, Kelly York, and other community volunteers.

โ€œWithout a doubt, the Prom Parade is one of the best things to come out of the pandemic,โ€ said Calahan Taylor, Warrensburg Main Street Board Member. โ€œMy class was the very first to experience it in 2020, and from the moment it began, it was an instant hit. Itโ€™s more than just a parade, itโ€™s a chance for students to dress up, celebrate with their closest friends, and create unforgettable memories. Parents get front-row seats to the excitement, and talented volunteer photographers capture every special moment. Seeing this event grow over the years and having the opportunity to give back as a volunteer has been incredibly rewarding. The Prom Parade isnโ€™t just an event, itโ€™s a tradition that brings our community together in a truly special way.โ€

Warrensburg Main Street encourages community members to join to help make a memorable night by coming downtown and supporting local high school students on their special night. After the event is over, all photos and videos taken during Prom Parade will be available for FREE on Warrensburg Main Streetโ€™s social media platforms. Photo albums links and photographers will be available by the Monday following the Prom Parade event. A street closure will be in effect to ensure the safety of the students and the community from 3pm-7:30pm stretching from N Holden Street to Maynard Alley on W Pine Street. Check out Warrensburg Main Streetโ€™s Prom Parade Facebook event and their website for further information on street closures, day of event maps and the best place to take photos.
