Spread Local Love this February with Warrensburg Main Street

Warrensburg, Mo. (January 22, 2026)— Downtown Warrensburg is inviting the community to spread love and appreciation this winter through the newly launched I Heart Downtown Campaign, running through February 14th. The Campaign encourages the community to share love and positive
messages with downtown businesses and the people who make Downtown Warrensburg thrive.

Starting in 2023, Warrensburg Main Street’s Economic Vitality committee started planning a way to boost morale for small businesses during the slow season. According to surveys from Main Street America, many small business owners report decreasing customer traffic and spending in the months after the holiday season. Along with revenues dipping, confidence also seems to be lower compared with busier times of the year. This makes the first quarter of the year especially challenging for downtown shops and services.

Warrensburg Main Street decided to create a promotion to spread positive messages and kind words in a time of need. What was once named Love Letters to Downtown, has now been rebranded and revamped to the I Heart Downtown campaign, a collaborative effort between the Economic Vitality committee and Promotions committee of Warrensburg Main Street. I Heart Downtown is designed to amplify communication and support for local business during the winter season.

“Growing up in Warrensburg, downtown has always held a special place in my heart. Taking part in this year’s I Heart Downtown event is my way of showing appreciation for the local businesses that mean so much to me.” states Amber Patterson, Economic Vitality Committee member. “It’s amazing to see how our downtown continues to grow and thrive thanks to the love and support of our community.”

Community members can write positive messages to Downtown as a whole, to a favorite local business, to an owner who makes you feel welcome or to the bartender who always remembers your name and order. This initiative is to help spread love throughout the month of February to help bring some positivity to the colder, slower winter months.

It all comes together on I Heart Downtown Day on February 7th, where a Positive Message station will take shape in the Warrensburg Convention and Visitor Center located at 205 N Holden St, Warrensburg MO 64093. Community members are encouraged to write messages to Downtown Businesses on message hearts and deliver them to the businesses doors. Hearts will be hung outside to see positive messages and love spread through Downtown Warrensburg on February 7th. The Message Station will be available from 9am to 1pm at the Warrensburg Convention and Visitor Center.

Alongside the I Heart Downtown messages, Warrensburg Main Street’s Promotions Committee has organized a shopping day to encourage businesses to get out and support local businesses on I Heart Downtown Day. Community members can pick up a I Heart Downtown Stamp Card at the Warrensburg Convention and Visitor Center or participating businesses. Each card has 10 boxes to collect stamps, 1 stamp for visiting a participating business and 2 stamps for making a purchase at a participating business. Once all 10 stamps are collected, community members can enter them into drawing to win a $250 Downtown Merch Basket. Completed Stamp Cards will be collected in a Valentines Day Box at Warrensburg Main Street’s Office located at 125C N Holden St until 5pm.

Positive messages can be submitted outside of I Heart Downtown Day through the Warrensburg Main Street website, https://warrensburgmainstreet.org/event/i-heart-downtown. Every message submitted through the portal will be entered into a drawing for a $50 giftcard to a Downtown Business.

This year, Community National Bank & Trust has generously donated funds for Main Street to purchase gift cards from businesses for giveaways for this event. Main Street will have social media posts with opportunities for additional winnings on Facebook and Instagram.
