Warrensburg Main Street’s Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade

Warrensburg, Mo. (June 24, 2025) — Warrensburg Main Street is hosting their annual Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. The patriotic fun will take place on Saturday, July 5th at the downtown Johnson County Courthouse Lawn located at 300 N Holden St from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

The community is encouraged to put on their red, white and blue and participate in this years’ annual parade. Bring the whole family to take part in the patriotic fun. Participants are encouraged to decorate their wagons, trikes, bikes, ride on toys, family dogs or even themselves to take part in the parade. Outdoor activities such as a chalk drawing, hula hoops, face painting, and bubbles will be available from 9:00 am-10:30 am. Kona Ice will be stationed at the courthouse square with refreshing shaved ice treats, and Cowell’s Barnyard Buckaroo’s will offer a petting zoo and pony rides for all to enjoy.

Warrensburg Main Street will provide free decorating supplies for bikes, trikes, and wagons on the courthouse lawn before the parade, available while supplies last. The festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. with pre-parade fun at the Downtown Courthouse, and the Patriotic Children’s Bike Parade will roll out at 10:30 a.m. Make a full morning of it by visiting the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market, open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., before, during, and after the parade.

Before the parade begins, enjoy a flag-raising ceremony by Troop 400 and a performance of the National Anthem by Lauren Vesecky. The parade will start at the corner of Holden and Market Streets, heading north on Holden Street to Gay Street. Participants will then turn left (west) onto Gay Street, followed by another left onto Maynard Street, heading south. The final turn is a left onto Hout Street, where the parade will pass through the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market. This parade route around the square can be completed up to two times.

Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and line Holden, Gay, and Maynard Streets to cheer on community members as they showcase their creativity and patriotic spirit. During the event, an antique fire truck, courtesy of the Warrensburg Fire Department, will be on display at the courthouse square. Families are invited to take photos, meet local firefighters, and learn more about their important work.

The Patriotic Children’s Bike Parade is a Warrensburg family tradition and could not be possible without the support from the Warrensburg community. The Patriotic Parade is sponsored by The Next Door Agents and Warrensburg R-VI School District which allows for this activity to be free to the community and Warrensburg Main Street to add more activities for all to enjoy. The parade is free to the public and there are no registration or fees to participate.

This event is brought to the community by Warrensburg Main Street’s Promotion committee. This committee projects a positive, unified image of Downtown by marketing the unique opportunities to shoppers, investors, new businesses, visitors, and locals.
