The Johnson County Board of Services has played a vital role in helping Warrensburg Main Street create a more inclusive and welcoming downtown experience. In 2025, Liz Hargrave approached Main Street with the idea of implementing sensory bags to better serve individuals with sensory sensitivities. Through a generous partnership in which the Board of Services provided 100% of the funding, more than 50 sensory bags were made available at several key events, including Art Walk, Movie on the Lawn, the Farmers Market, and the Burg Fest Street Fair. Beyond this impactful initiative, the Board of Services continues to collaborate with Main Street on art programming, event concepts, and strategies to ensure Downtown Warrensburg is accessible and welcoming to all.
